Strategy: Cubing
Tool: cube
Basics
Time: 5 minutes Room Arrangement: Groups with 6 students per group are necessary Materials: cube Process Directions
1. After learning about a topic or unit, divide students into groups with 6 students in each group. 2. Provide each group with a dice, labeled as shown to the right. 3. One at a time, students take turns rolling the die and answering the question that appears (about the unit they just learned about). 4. If a student rolls the same question as a previous student, they should roll again until they arrive at a new question. 5. After all students have answered one question, the class meets back together as a whole to discuss the answers. |
Example
This could be used in talking about air pollution. Any of the "who, why, what, how, when, and where" questions could be answered about that topic.
