Strategy: Y-Chart
Tool: Y-Chart
Process Directions
1. Pass out Y-Chart sheets to students. 2. Give students a topic to write about. 3. Ask them to draw a picture in the "looks like" section, to tape/glue a small object in the "feels like" section, and use words to describe the "smells like" section. 4. Collect papers when students are finished. Example
This could be done in a unit on pollution. When describing land pollution, students might glue down a piece of trash in the "feels like" section, draw a dirty street in the "looks like" section, and use words to describe garbage smells int the "smells like" section. |
